Repairs and Maintenance Coordinator

Opus People Solutions on behalf of North Northampton Council are recruiting for a Repairs and Maintenance Coordinator to join their team on a 3 month contract.
**Overall Purpose**:
To be responsible for the day-to-day operational supervision of Corby Borough Council’s Repairs and Maintenance Team, providing technical support to deliver a high quality and cost effective repairs and maintenance function
**What you'll be doing**:
**Leadership**
a) Support a 'can do’ service culture of continuous improvement
b) Support the delivery of continuous improvement in:
- costs (reducing waste)
- quality (reducing variation)
- time (increasing throughput)
- people (competence and motivation)
c) Provide focus on the customer experience, including complaint resolution and customer satisfaction indicators
d) Encourage team building
e) Help project a clear vision of 'what we are trying to achieve’
**People management**
a) All usual supervisory responsibilities
b) Encourage personal development for all team members
c) Communications
**Strategy**
a) Ensure the service contribution to the delivery of the AMS
b) Capture and provide feedback to reduce the whole life cost of maintenance
**Processes**
a) Ensure procedures and processes are followed, to ensure compliance with CBC standing orders and corporate guidelines
b) Contribute to the delivery and review of the Corby Quality Standard
c) Ensure effective procedures for maintaining statutory compliance are adhered to
d) Ensure the health and safety of customers, the workforce and the general public
**Essential Skills**
- Technical qualification, accreditation, and/or work-based experience allowing for the supervision of specific team functions (e.g. gas, electric works, asbestos, stock management & health and safety) (essential for some posts, dependent on the individualrole)
- A broad knowledge of construction or an understanding of property maintenance
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation as it applies to Direct Labour Organisations and landlords
- Experience of working in building management specifically the delivery of responsive repairs, capital programmes, and void management
- Experience of working with customers in high volume environments with the ability to manage a demanding workload.
