The Mediroom Team are committed to developing our staffs' ability to provide the best patient-centered care. We are looking for a clinically experienced Mediroom Practitioner (RN or ODP) with excellent teaching, mentoring and assessment skills, to join our existing ASCR Recruitment, Retention, Education and Well-being Team.
You must be currently working as a Mediroom Practitioner at NBT and have experience of supporting new staff through their preceptorship. In addition to supporting new staff you will support existing staff with their ongoing professional development, including providing 1:1 support and group skills training.
We are looking for someone who is well-organised, driven, compassionate and enthusiastic. You should have significant post-registration experience and be able to demonstrate an expert level of scrub practice, acting as a professional role model at all times. You will be working 50% of your time as a Practice Facilitator and the remaining 50% in your clinical Mediroom role.
You will be well supported by our existing ASCR RREW Team but there is an expectation that you will be confident to work autonomously, plan your own workload and interact with a multi-disciplinary range of professionals.
As a member of the ASCR Education Team, the Practice Facilitator will promote the delivery of high quality patient care by the provision of direct supervision, training and preceptorship support for Mediroom Practitioners. This will include working alongside Registered Nurses & ODPs who are undertaking preceptorship and/or development programmes.
The Practice Facilitator will act as a point of escalation for preceptors who require support in managing individuals who are struggling to demonstrate the required standards of practice in accordance with the Trust’s capability procedures.
The Practice Facilitator will support development of the learning environment and competency frameworks benchmarked against national standards of care.

Main Responsibilities
Support newly qualified registered practitioners / IENs and new staff during their period of preceptorship / OSCE pathway / rotation programme
Support and develop the preceptors using a facilitation / coaching approach
Provide direct supervision and training for qualified registered practitioners / IENs and new staff
Support development of the learning environment and competency frameworks benchmarked against national standards of care.
Support the clinical teams to develop skills matrices and record staff development using their matrix
Support the development of clinical practice guidelines & policies
Assist the workforce in achieving quality standards
Develop and implement new initiatives and ways of working
Contribute to the delivery, management and review of all existing accredited and internal education
programmes

Communicate with all levels of staff throughout the Trust on a daily basis.
Required to work in both elective and emergency environments and in satellite units to support staff / learner development needs
Be able to deliver difficult information and lead processes that may be upsetting (for example capability process, failing student process etc.)
Be able to challenge poor practice in an assertive and professional manner and support improvement
