We are looking for a part-time Engagement Officer to join our team and help us find out what local people think about the health and social care services they use.

You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering community engagement activities across Cambridge, South and East Cambridgeshire to collect people's feedback about local health and social care services. We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

We use what people tell us to help influence improvements in local services, from better information on GP websites to more support for people at the end of life. And from helping make NHS 111 services meet the needs of people whose first language isn't English to involving autistic people in shaping future autism services.

We know that some people, such as older and disabled people, individuals from minority ethnic communities and those with limited or no internet access, can find it harder to get the care they need. You will work the hardest to listen to those whose voices are not always heard.

This role is part-time (25 hours per week) with a salary of £24,675 per annum pro rata.

You will need to have:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen to people who may have a difficult story to tell.
- An understanding of how health and care services are commissioned and an awareness of the key local issues
- An understanding of community engagement techniques and knowledge of local voluntary and community sector organisations.
- Strong organisational and planning skills and the ability to manage competing demands.
- The ability to travel to and attend meetings throughout Cambridgeshire including rural locations that are not well covered by public transport.
- Experience of working with and supporting volunteers.
