We are trusted by Kent County Council and are one of their first points of call when it comes to placing their clients with mental health and learning disabilities.
**Summary Job Description**
Delivering support and advice regarding finances and accommodation tovulnerable adults within the community. Supporting the Housing Manager carrying out daily duties to ensure the residents income is maximised while using the person centred approach.
**Responsibilities**
- Liaise with the DWP and Local Authorities on behalf of the residents, where required, to progress their claims.
- Visit the residents and offer on-going regular support in the area of budgeting, utility bills management and to offer information or signposting for debt management.
- Maintain awareness of developments in relation to Welfare Reform and Benefit legislation, policy and regulation.
- Deal with correspondence, maintenance of records and files while ensuring the internal processes, systems, policies and procedures are adhered to.
- General Administration.
- Attend to any other duties that may be reasonably required by the Housing Manager and the Director.
**Skills and Experience**:
- Excellent communication skills and will be able to manage workload with a positive and flexible attitude.
- Worked in a client-facing role previously.
- Experience of IT systems, record keeping and report writing.
- Able to build and maintaining relationships with the residents, internal and external professionals.
- Hardworking, determined, eager to learn and work on initiative.
- Flexible attitude.
- GCSE English Language and Maths, grade C or above.
**Please note, no previous experience in a similar role is required - full training will be provided, as long as you are determined and want to learn. You will need a Full UK driving licence.**
