Pet Export Booking Consultant

Wimborne, United Kingdom PetAir UK Full time

**Job Location**: Verwood, Dorset, BH21 5NZ

**Basic hours**: 08:30-17:30 Monday to Friday (40 Hours per week), not including bank holidays - some degree of flexibility is required as pet shipping is definitely not a 9-5 job. The nature of the role may see you doing extra hours to complete your current workload at peak times

**Remuneration**: £33,000 - £35,600 per Annum OTE (£26,083k Basic + bonus worth approximately £7,000 - 9,600 / Annum (paid monthly)) depending on experience.

Please note the bonus is **non-discretionary** meaning you **are entitled to bonus every month**, which is calculated and added automatically. As an example, once past probation, in 2023 a typical export consultant earned £33,383. We estimate slightly lower to take into account the slightly lower bonus earned in the 3-month probation period and to be slightly conservative.

The max bonus in any month will not exceed £800 - i.e. the bonus is capped at £800.00 in any one month. The maximum possible bonus in any one year is £9,600/annum.

**Holiday**: 33 days per year (Including x8 bank holidays)

**Perks**: Free Parking

Additional day off for your birthday (actual date taken may vary)

Excellent discount (circa 50%) at all IVC vet practices and referrals

Dog friendly office

**We cannot over emphasise** how demanding this role is and we expect a high level of professionalism and hard graft - please consider this carefully before confirming your further interest.

**Job Spec**:

- Reports to the Local Branch Manager
- To work with individual clients based on details provided to you by the export sales team
- Working as an individual (but within a team of other export consultants) You will be solely responsible for your clients’ pet export from all aspects from arranging the UK collection of their pets, checking the veterinary requirements, dealing with and ordering export paperwork, liaising with airlines to book the flight, organising vet visits
- To make sure that additional costs the clients incur (due to requests for additional services) are well documented and noted on our internal system
- Successfully complete each shipment carefully, in a timely manner, and accurately, so that the client feels that have received a ‘top-class’ service. Client satisfaction is a high priority
- General administration - there is a lot of paperwork involved in flying pets
- Covering the out of hours telephone (not immediately but when agreed you are ready to do so - usually 9-12 months from starting the role) - this is not busy but as we have pets landing and taking off at all hours of the day, this is important.
- Holiday cover of fellow consultants

**About you**:

- You must be extremely customer-focused and be able to stay calm in stressful situations
- You can handle clients from a diverse background and deal with clients with differing attitudes.
- You are the sort of person that when faced with a challenge or problem, whilst seeking advice from colleagues will ‘own’ any problem and see something through to completion
- You are resilient to problems caused by things outside of your control and can adapt to new situations and solve issues when they arise
- Your eye for detail is extremely important - any mistake can be costly
- You consider yourself to operate professionally with clients of all backgrounds but can keep in mind that you are dealing with people's pets and therefore excellent soft skills are essential
- Excellent organisational skills
- You are able and willing to work occasional extra hours when busy or a particular shipment requires

The job we do at Petair UK is fun and rewarding, but requires hard work and dedication

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: £33,000.00-£36,600.00 per year

- Bonus scheme

**Benefits**:

- Additional leave
- Casual dress
- Company pension
- Cycle to work scheme
