Job Title: Estates Officer - Mechanical (Band 7)

We are currently recruiting for an Estates Officer - Mechanical within a leading Healthcare NHS Trust in the North West area. This a key role on a permanent basis.

Duties will include:

- Provide technical advice and support on all aspects of the Estates department service, to the Trust and any third party stakeholders
- Responsible for the preparation of tenders, list of tenderers and other documentation for market-testing
- Accountable to market-test, evaluate, co-ordinate and manage the implementation and management of various service contracts
- Responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate training and continuous professional development programme. Undertake specialist training as required e.g. Medical Gas refresher training, Decontamination training etc
- Co-ordinate and management of statutory testing procedures
- Lead on Statutory inspection work on plant and equipment, including assessment of plant condition, ability to meet current H&S standards and any changes in legislation.
- Assessment of departmental needs in terms of staff planning and recruitment
- Produce Trust wide policies, protocols and procedures and support the implementation of policies, protocols and procedures.
- Delegated budget holder for Estates revenue budgets and provide authorised signatory in line with Trust Standing Financial Instructions for Departmental budgets.
- Authorise invoice payments to suppliers and contractors.
- Responsible for risk assessments and method statements from both maintenance staff and contract staff for work being undertaken.

Essential skills / qualifications:

- HNC/BTEC certificate in Engineering or equivalent practical and theoretical engineering knowledge
- Full UK Driving Licence and Own Transport
- IOSH Managing Safely and Authorised Person - would be desirable
