**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a Credit Controller to join our finance team and play a critical role in managing the company's cash flow by ensuring timely collection of debts owed, minimising credit risk, and maintaining positive relationships with our valued customers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage and maintain assigned customer accounts independently.
- Confidently handle card payment processing over the phone, ensuring accuracy and compliance with data protection guidelines.
- Minimise bad debt exposure by promptly identifying and reporting detrimental changes in customer behaviours and detrimental changes in risk
- Ensure that 7-Day letters are produced and issued.
- Prepare and send monthly statements and follow up with customers as necessary
- Investigate and resolve customer queries and disputes, collaborating with internal departments as necessary
- Maintain and update customer account records
- Complete ad-hoc customer reporting and analysis as required, providing valuable insights to support business decisions
- Support the Finance Director with various finance-related tasks and projects as needed

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of one year of proven experience in a credit control role
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software, including Sage Intacct and other platforms
- Positive, proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and efficiently and complete assigned tasks within strict deadlines
- Familiarity with basic financial regulations and data protection laws
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
