What it's like to work here The Cheshire & Wirral portfolio is made up of the iconic Little Moreton Hall, the tranquil garden of Hare Hill, the magical woodland of Alderley Edge, the heathland of Thurstaston Common, and plenty of beautiful ‘pockets’ of Cheshire countryside

The portfolio requires the team to balance their time well, prioritising the peak seasons for visitors to all our places. Working across these different sites means no two days are the same. We have a mix of long standing and new team members, all committedto delivering excellence.

Click here for more information about this location What you'll be doing As Volunteering & Community Officer you'll be based at Little Moreton Hall, with some travel to Hare Hill and Alderley Edge, while supporting colleagues in Cheshire West and the Wirral remotely.

You’ll champion a positive, flexible and inclusive environment for existing and future volunteers, communities, and partners. Working across all departments you’ll help to develop a plan for volunteering and communities, looking at new ways of working anddeepening relationships with existing and new audiences.

This role involves volunteer line management, with the expectation of occasional weekend working and some duty management.Ideally this role will work two days between Wed-Fri to match the opening days of Little Moreton and Hare Hill, but there’s some flexibilityaround other days.

Who we're looking for
- Demonstrate an understanding of volunteering and be enthusiastic about promoting the benefits of great volunteer involvement and opportunities
- Understanding of good practice in community engagement and involvement, as well as broader participation and partnership working
- A sound working knowledge of volunteering principles and practice
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Ability to support those leading and working alongside volunteers and community partners
- Strong communication skills.
