We are flexible as to how we staff this post. It could be 2 part time posts
- Mon - Fri 9 - 12 (15 hrs/week) and Mon - Fri 1 - 4 (15 hrs/week)
or
one fulltime post Mon - Fri 9 - 4 (31.25 hrs/week)

We are looking forward to employing a Support Assistant to facilitate and develop the play and learning of some children with special educational needs within Chichester Nursery School, ensuring that they have full and safe access to all learning opportunities within our free-flow environment and are supported in their learning and development. This would be working with our Over 3s’ in the morning and our Under 3s’ in the afternoon. The role will also involve supporting a child with medical needs (training will be given).

The post is term-time only. The post will be initially until the end of the Summer Term 2025 though there may be the opportunity to extend the role beyond this, depending on the numbers of children with additional needs. If the job is filled as a fulltime post, a 45 minute unpaid lunchbreak will be given.

Applicants will be confident, reliable, adaptable and committed, and have a real love of working with young children and supporting their learning through play. They will also have the ability to be patient and understanding, but also firm when necessary.

Previous experience of working with young children is essential, and experience of working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
