We a searching for a Senior Governance Lead (based out of either Croydon or Sheffield) to be responsible for running the Home Office Technical Design Authority (TDA). The board is chaired by the Chief Technology Officer. The Board ratifies technology investment decisions, designs, and choices for the wider Department - directly or delegated to Portfolio TDA boards.
The TDA is going through an evolution to be fully representative of the broadest needs of Technology and Digital delivery. The post holder will be a key participant in this evolution - ensuring that the TDA continues to meet the needs of the organisation, senior partners and the governance and assurance landscape within DDaT and across the department.
You will have a strong ability to build teamwork around ambiguity in an often-changing business environment. You will demonstrate strong reasoning capabilities, driving a vision of assurance management both with team and wider networks. This role would suit someone with a transformational leadership style willing to innovate to deliver the best outcomes for the business and the team.

Leading all aspects of the day-to-day logistics and operation of the TDA Secretariat function ensuring that all of the required components are in place to enable meetings to run efficiently and optimally. On a day-to-day basis, you will collaborate with team members and other DDaT and cross HO boards, to ensure that the right information is passed to and from Head of Technology and Digital Assurance as needed.

The role relies on ability to build wider relationship and leadership skills and experience in managing upwards. You will have the ability to prioritise effectively and to demonstrate organisational skills. An ability to be self-starting in a high-pressured environment will be key. You will be confident to work directly with our most senior members of staff and Board members, and able to handle sensitive information appropriately.

You will have experience in the following:

- Showing strong and confident leadership skills, critical thinking and the ability to use a variety of techniques to tailor style to audience.
- Demonstrating excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); including at senior levels, with the ability to speak with confidence, challenge where needed and negotiate effectively.
- Being a self-starter with impressive organisational skills combined with having a positive demeanour to drive through tasks to completion whilst keeping senior leads fully informed of progress and balance limited resources across competing priorities.
- Ability to build and foster close relationships with numerous stakeholders, establishing links and opportunities across business areas and beyond.
- Using excellent judgement and emotional intelligence to assess situations and information and make effective decisions.
- Having a strong understanding of the principles of change management, methodologies and tools.
