JOB DETAILS
The Governance & Reporting Manager leads the Data Governance and Reporting team to collaboratively across all lines of business & infrastructure functions to ensure our data risk, control & issue profile is measured, monitored and reported clearly and accurately.

They will also review assurance activities to ensure best practice is adopted across the organisation, in line with global data standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Data Governance & Reporting team to establish, monitor, and enhance the organisation's data governance framework.
  • Define, measure, and report on key data risk and control metrics, ensuring transparency and consistency across business lines.
  • Collaborate with business, technology, and infrastructure stakeholders to maintain a unified view of data risks, controls, and issues.
  • Ensure data-related risks are accurately captured, tracked, and remediated in accordance with enterprise policies.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of governance reports, dashboards, and management insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Review and validate assurance activities to confirm adherence to global data management standards and best practices.
  • Champion data quality, ownership, and accountability across all data domains and business functions.
  • Support regulatory and audit requirements related to data governance, risk, and control management.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for improvement in data governance processes and reporting efficiency.
  • Act as a key liaison between global governance bodies, data owners, and control functions to ensure alignment and compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8-10 years of experience in data governance, risk management, or reporting within financial services or a regulated industry.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and leading governance or control initiatives across large organisations.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, including data ownership, lineage, quality, and metadata management.
  • Expertise in risk control frameworks, issue management, and assurance reporting.
  • Experience working with data governance tools and reporting platforms (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Power BI, Tableau or similar).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with global data regulations and standards such as BCBS 239, GDPR, and ISO 8000 or similar.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
