**Your role and responsibilities**

As a Technical Support Officer in our Definitive Map team you'll play a crucial administrative role in maintaining the legal records that help protect public access to our countryside. You will manage our online presence and handle financial processes, monitoring budgets to keep our operations running smoothly. From managing payments and processing landowner deposits to maintaining statutory registers, you'll be the go-to person for keeping our systems and processes running like clockwork. If you have strong IT skills, an eye for detail, and enjoy variety in your work, this could be your opportunity to make a real difference to how people experience Suffolk's beautiful outdoor spaces. You'll be joining a supportive team where your administrative expertise will help shape the future of our county's green access network

**You will need**
- demonstrable knowledge and/or experience in a range of office and financial procedures
- good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
- great customer service skills, together with an understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- attention to detail and accuracy
- ability to interpret maps and use digital mapping
- ability to plan and organise your own workload and to work flexibly as part of a team.

**The team**

The Rights of Way and Access team looks after the county council’s green access network. Green access includes 5,700km of public rights of way, open access and informal routes. Suffolk County Council’s ‘**Suffolk Green Access Strategy 2020-2030**’ covers the team’s main priorities with the vision “to get more people using and enjoying Suffolk’s green access network.”

The Definitive Map Team sits within Rights of Way and Access. We maintain the county council's definitive map and associated records and make legal orders to improve the network.
