In this role the postholder will support the Campaigns and Engagement Manager to deliver insight-led and strategically-aligned campaigns and public engagement activities. They will have a track record of organising events, delivering campaigns and engaging with stakeholders, to enable them to work creatively and collaboratively to raise awareness of health and care research in Wales and appeal to new audiences to get involved in research.

Support the delivery of the Support and Delivery Centre’s events programme and public engagement activities.

Support the creative development, commissioning and/or delivery of public campaigns, engagement projects and communication outputs.

Develop campaign, publicity and marketing materials of a high standard that are accessible to and appropriate for relevant audiences, reflecting the diversity of the communities served by Health and Care Research Wales.

Ensure complex information is tailored and communicated effectively to the public and creative professionals.

Support any procurement of services from external suppliers of services such as graphic design, print, videography, events to support effective delivery of campaigns and public engagement outputs.

Support the effective evaluation of all campaign and engagement outputs, in line with the Government Communications Service’s OASIS model.

Work closely with the research community and infrastructure to foster strong engagement with, and contribution to Campaigns & Engagement development and delivery work.

Working with the wider team, identify people who have taken part in research to act as ambassadors in promotional, engagement opportunities for our channels and events.

Use a variety of communications tools to promote campaigns and events and involve partners and members of the public.

Liaise and coordinate with infrastructure and Support & Delivery engagement leads.

The Health and Care Research Wales Support & Delivery Centre is hosted by Powys Teaching Health Board which is one of Wales’s seven health boards, and funded by Welsh Government. Our headquarters is in Cardiff but we have offices across Wales. The post holder will have a base in one of the Cardiff, Brecon or Bangor offices (confirmed on recruitment) but will also be able to work from home.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
