Head of Planning

The Head of IBP for Confectionery is accountable for the business planning function across all Confectionery sites and the Integrated Business Planning process that delivers a robust S&OP process.

Key to the role is the management and development of the planning team and the central planning function to ensure the delivery of optimal daily factory and 3rd party co-manufacture scheduling to deliver customer service targets, and mid to long term demand and capacity planning analysis.

Also responsible for driving the IBP cycle meetings to align demand and supply this will also include monthly updates to the Exec team on progress. To govern, review and drive associated actions to manage slow and obsolete materials and control working capital inventory levels including faulty goods.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Lead, motivate and develop the cross functional team to deliver an S&OP process that covers the needs of the key stakeholders across key areas of Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Inventory Management for all Valeo Confectionery manufacturing sites.
- Establish and operate an effective forecasting method and production planning process which balances the need to deliver OTIF targets and working capital constraints.
- As Business Process Owner for the S&OP processes, ensure timely and accurate inputs to the process and drive continuous improvement to meet the changing needs of the business.
- Engage with Sales & Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing to evaluate forecasts vs. actual production and actual sales (volume, trends, and product mix).
- Coordinate development of product forecasts by region over short/medium/long term planning horizon (i.e., 18 months rolling forecast)
- Collaborate with Operations management team to deliver the most effective utilisation of the manufacturing operations output through the IBP process
- Manage the Working Capital Review process to manage slow moving stock and ensure the continued reduction of inventory and working capital levels.
- Reporting of monthly key metrics for the business covering S&OP process adherence, manufacturing performance compared to budget & plan, site inventory levels and stock balancing and forecast accuracy and bias.
- Lead and develop capability in the IBP team to drive continuous improvement in processes and results.

**Qualifications/Expe**rience**

You will have worked in a similar industry for 5 + years and:

- Successfully strategized and implemented a high-level S&OP process.
- Demonstrated success in change management/transformation projects.
- Have exceptional inventory and demand forecasting knowledge.
- The ability to influence and collaborate within a matrix organisation.
- Demonstrate strong Experience in FMCG industry
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills/numerate
- Commercially aware.
- Be an effective Team Manager - able to direct work, develop capability and cultivate innovation.
- Ability to work with large amounts of complex data and analyse trends.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and facilitation skills - ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms, influence and engage across global, cross-functional groups
- High competency in use of ERP systems for planning and control and in Microsoft Office tools, in particular Excel and PowerPoint
