Yard Supervisor

We are looking to recruit a Yard Foreman who will be responsible for the management of all yard personnel, stock and equipment, ensuring that the highest standards of service are attained and maintained in compliance with Health and Safety requirements and statutory legislation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Ensure the yard operation functions within the defined monthly and annual budget.
- Comply with and ensure all employees, visitors and sub-contractors comply with company and Health and Safety Executive policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional image and ensure company clothing is worn where supplied, and PPE is always worn in line with the Health and Safety policy, and current Health & Safety Legislation.
- Ensure proper recording of all incidents and make every effort to reduce Accident Frequency Rate (AFR)
- Ensure customers receive the correct quantity of equipment on time, to specification and in line with company recognised quality standards.
- Ensure condition of equipment is comprehensively recorded both on delivery and return, and maintain effective stock control
- Effectively manage all staff within remit, i.e. training, motivation, evaluation and development.
- Ensure the timely submission of personnel paperwork i.e. overtime claims etc.
- Effect efficient planning of labour and material.
- Ensure the timely submission of identified reports and inventory returns in line with the business program.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal Responsible for effective management of all yard operatives, reporting directly to Operations Manager, supporting and liaising with all other branch functions

External Contributing to achieving high level of customer satisfaction.

Integrity must be maintained at all times when dealing with all above key relationships.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Good self discipline with a strong commitment to quality and procedures, ability to work under pressure with a strong customer focus. Displays a positive and helpful manner, with the ability to deal confidently with internal and external personnel. Excellent team builder, good communicator with an enthusiastic, participative style, capable of contributing to the branch team. Must have clear and concise approach to Health and Safety.
