Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is one of the largest police forces in the UK and is responsible for keeping its diverse population of almost 3 million safe, spread over more than 1,200 sq. km. GMP have recently established a new Corporate Development Branch, which brings together strategy, performance, oversight and governance. The new function will be the "Corporate Brain" of the organisation, providing senior leaders with full sight of how the force is performing and highlighting where to target improvement activity. GMP are one of the fastest improving police forces in the UK and we are aiming to build on this through strengthening our Strategic Performance Team. We are recruiting to a number of positions across several roles. It is an exciting time to join our Strategic Performance Team, to drive forward GMP’s performance journey, with ample opportunities to develop and build your career. To gather, collate and present different types of data and information from various sources in a clear and concise manner and to draw conclusions and put forward informed recommendations to support GMPs performance improvement. This post provides an excellent opportunity for an analytically minded person to be part of a fascinating and rewarding area of work in a supportive environment. Working as part of the Strategic Performance Team, you will focus on producing and publishing performance data in a variety of formats, including briefing papers, written reports and presentations, detailing the findings of performance analysis and research. Along with having excellent IT skills and the ability to produce accurate and concise reports to a high standard, you should have experience of preparing and conducting presentations and briefings. You will be required on occasion to travel for business purposes and demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours.
