**Information Security Officer**

**Manchester / Fully Remote**

**£600-£650p/d umbrella only**

Fantastic new contract opportunity for an experienced Information Security Officer on an initial 3-month contract. My client, a specialist financial services business with an excellent reputation are currently investing within their Information/Cyber Securityteam. As part of this investment, they are looking to hire an Information Security Officer on an interim basis.

You will ensure that the Information Security standards align with those set by the wider group by liaison with key stakeholders and review, challenge and approve Information Security processes and procedures.

You will provide assurance to the business of its supplier's information security obligations advising supplier owners of remedial actions needed to be implemented by suppliers to keep data secure.

**Key responsibilities**
- To provide assurance that the business is compliant with all relevant Information Security policy and legislation.
- As the owner of the Information Security, Acceptable Use and Social Media policies, see that they are aligned to current legislation, registrational requirements as well as industry best practice.
- Provide security training and awareness campaigns to the business and its customer base.
- Provide Third Party Information Security assurance of suppliers. Providing insight to supplier owners (SO) of concerns with suppliers and working with the SO to remediate any identified issues.
- Collaborate with the IT function to see that a cyber security strategy is put in place that fulfils the requirements of business objectives and control maturity requirements.
- Conduct independent Information Security risk assessments, reporting findings to and agreeing mitigating actions/risk acceptance with the system owner and IT.
- Undertake proportionate assurance activity / IS risk assessments of Information Security control environment.
- Provide oversight and investigate breaches of data loss prevention controls.
- Monitor, investigate, record, and provide statistics to the business of information security breaches.
- Sit on the Business Continuity Steering Group and Incident Management Teams to provide guidance on Information Security matters.
- Provide oversight and guidance of Information Security to any projects.
- Monitor regulatory and legislation developments in Information Security and report relevant developments to the business.

**Skills and Experience required**
- Strong proven experience of working within a similar Information Security Officer role.
- Experience of operational cyber security controls.
- Able to evidence experience implementing ISO27001 in a rapidly changing organisation whilst ensuring the organisation remains agile.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining policies, processes and procedures, aligning with the ISO27001 framework.
- Strong knowledge of ISO27001 family of documents (standards, codes of practice, guidelines).
- Must be able to interface and coordinate work effectively demonstrating strong project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
