Your Responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen for an Account Executive - Sugar/Coffee in the City of London to be responsible to help manage the daily running of the Sugar, Coffee desk through providing a professional service to the full range of the desk’s customers on a continuous basis.

The main duties of this role will include:

- Provides continuous cover for a wide variety of customers wishing to trade in Sugar/Coffee, executing their trading instructions in a swift and accurate manner
- Monitors and analyses the market potential, market trends, requirements and possibilities amongst target group customers, economic, monetary and political developments; and advises clients accordingly
- Maintains relationships with existing customers, by means of regular contact, advising them of news and market movements
- Is continuously aware of and assesses customer’s positions and SPAN margin requirements
- Work closely with other members of desk to continually provide service to clients
- Assesses potential customer’s suitability, in conjunction with the Compliance Department (including on the basis of financial/economic/qualitative data)
- Determines appropriate action to customer’s portfolio if deemed necessary
- Monitors and controls risk
- Checks previous day’s business
- Prepares recaps of business executed and market reports
- Increase desk revenue by working to on-board new clients and business.
- Meets with and entertains customers as appropriate
- Represents the company at seminars and conferences

Your Profile
- Registered with the FCA - Controlled function 30
- Holds FCA Futures & Options Representative status
- Previous experience in a Futures & Options environment
- GCSE/A level or equivalent standard is desirable
- Team player - needs to be able to integrate with existing team
- Microsoft Office - Intermediate Level
- Good up to date knowledge of the commodities market
- Good working knowledge of trading systems especially Fidessa
- Good working knowledge of the information technology systems process, which provides systems such as TT, ICE Block and CME direct an advantage
- A good working knowledge of Reuters/Future source an advantage
- Existing client base an advantage
- Sales and income generation
