As a trust of eight schools, working for over three thousand children and their families from nursery provision all the way through to post 16 study, **Severn Academies Educational Trust (SAET) **central services are in place to deliver operational support to our school communities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Trust to appoint a new post within our central team as **Payroll Administrator **to work term time only + 5 weeks.

We are looking for a motivated individual to support the delivery of high-quality, people focussed payroll and contract services as part of the wider trust operations team. The post holder will work under the direction of the Senior HR Advisor, processing monthly salary payments, salary sacrifice and pensions administration as well as coordinating the reporting of accurate pay data for budget reconciliation and monitoring.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**SPECIFIC DUTIES**
- Preparing and submitting the monthly payroll, producing supporting documentation for authorisation, ensuring payroll is compliant with all relevant statutory requirements
- Coordinating and inputting monthly overtime into the People system.
- Coordinating and paying expenses claims into the People system.
- Ensure all deadlines are always met and employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Reconcile employee salaries and investigate and action any discrepancies accordingly.
- Ensure all administration is kept up to date.
- Monthly processing P45’s and posting payslips.
- Provision of information to and liaison with external auditors and other external inspections as required.
- Track all payroll data for checking.
- Ensure pensions administration is carried out according to statutory requirements for LGPS & TPS.
- Ensure salary sacrifice schemes are administered in line with agreed parameters.
- Liaise with payroll to ensure pension statutory returns are completed accurately.
- In conjunction with the finance team, ensure payroll journals are correctly applied within the finance system, completing monitoring reports as required.
- As part of the budget planning process, support the Senior HR Advisor to ensure pay data is accurately forecast.
- Maintain pay data within the People and Budget systems as directed by the Senior HR Advisor.
- In conjunction with the HR Administrator ensure sickness pay is recorded, monitored and paid correctly.
- Keep abreast of national pay changes i.e. minimum wage, holiday pay, sickness pay, maternity/paternity pay etc.
- Ensure calculations within payroll systems are in line with terms and conditions documents.
- Ensure opt in/out and auto enrolment procedures are administered and tracked.
- Provide cover for colleagues where required to ensure the team continues to deliver the Service Level Expectations at all times.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
