The Personal Investment Management and Financial Advice Association (PIMFA) is the trade association for firms that provide personal investment services and financial advice to everyone from individuals and families to charities, pension funds, trusts and companies.

We get involved in all sorts of interesting topics including savings and investments for young people, new technology and its impact on business, cyber security and resilience, social impact and ESG, regulatory change and political and government affairs.

**Job Description**:
As senior policy adviser at PIMFA, you will:

- Act as policy lead on several important matters affecting the UK’s wealth management and financial advice industries
- Bring our members together to develop a collective voice on your topic areas
- Provide personalised and discreet value-add support to our member firms
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the regulator, government and other relevant industry organisations
- Represent PIMFA at virtual and in-person conferences, seminars and roundtables
- Assist other PIMFA business areas in growing our reach and membership

**Responsibilities**
- Report to the Head of Regulatory Policy and Compliance
- Policy lead on areas of expertise, including drafting consultation responses, policy papers, briefing notes, presentations and reports
- Keeping up to date on key developments in the UK concerning your focus areas, sharing relevant knowledge within the team
- Managing communities (committees/working groups) within your area of expertise
- Member and stakeholder management, including running meetings and facilitating workshops
- Collaborate with other PIMFA business development, training and events functions

**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**:

- Demonstrate knowledge of wealth management and/or financial advice industries, government, regulatory and investment policy in the UK (min 3+ years’ experience)
- Understand and be able to navigate the contents of the FCA Handbook
- A broad working knowledge of regulatory compliance, technology and operational issues within financial services
- Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and research abilities, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to build and sustain positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and interests
- Meticulous attention to detail, self-initiating, well-organised and capable of managing multiple projects and delivering on time
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to deliver and adapt under pressure
- Proven ability to work with peers and within a small team, demonstrating excellent team collaboration
- Enthusiastic, energetic and creative, with a demonstrable interest in policy and financial markets
