We are recruiting an Underwriter to join an award-winning, mutual insurer providing health insurance, income protection and life insurance.

We are looking for an experienced Life & Disability Underwriter who is ready for a fresh challenge to expand their medical knowledge and assess risks some mainstream providers won't consider.

Recognised as one of the UK's Great Places to Work, this is a fantastic opportunity to join their growing Underwriting team, either based in their stunning Exeter office, or working remotely from elsewhere in the UK.

The role:
The role will give you an opportunity to demonstrate your great underwriting skills. With your finger on the pulse of latest developments in the underwriting world, you will be strategic in your thinking. Coupled with excellent organisational and prioritisationsskills, your ability to juggle multiple priorities will enable you to build great team relationships and help you coach less experienced colleagues.

Skills and experience:

- Previous underwriting experience
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with colleagues, medical professionals and the public.
- Understanding of underwriting guidelines.
- Highly motivated self-starter with an understanding of the insurance industry.

Details and benefits:
**35 hours per week
- hybrid or remote. Flexible, condensed working, part time working, job shares or staggered hours can be considered.**
