**Duties/Responsibilities**:
EMCOR UK have number of opportunities for Industrial Operatives to join our onsite team based at British Sugar, Wissington on a six months fixed term contract.
- During the beet campaign season, you will be required to work a 4 on 4 off 10-hour day shift pattern
- £10.50 per hour
- Overtime available

**Job Purpose**:
To continually provide the site with the operational assistance as required due to both operational and contractual requirements including health and safety compliance and process related support. To maintain and improve hygiene standards within the premises to grow and develop our business with British Sugar.
- **Industrial Cleaning - **All aspects of cleaning within the main factory inclusive of external areas and use of plant equipment e.g. Bobcat, dumper truck and scrubber driers (inclusive of ride on) and the reach and wash. This role also works within the remit of factory improvements, carrying out tasks such as painting and filter changes. Working at height and within confined spaces is applicable with this role. During the operational season (Campaign) you will be required to work a 10-hour day, 4 0n 4 off shift pattern covering 7 days a week. When non-operational (GAP) you be required to work Monday to Friday 07:30 to 16:00.
- **Product Availability Cleaning - **All aspects of cleaning to a hygiene standard within our food safety areas in Product Availability.
- **Product Intervention -** Carrying out controlled inspection and plant replacement work within controlled work conditions working in line with product intervention permit and food safety rules. These tasks require the inspection of factory critical plant for integrity and food safety. Duties also include the replacement of production belts and screens.
- **Forklift -** All aspects of forklift driving inclusive of counter balance and all terrain forklift trucks. Waste management of site and the coordination of the 1100ltr wheelie bins on site. Liaison with the EMCOR office regarding the management of the skips on site is essential. Counter balance fork lift ticket and all-terrain fork lift conversion (if required).
- **Silo Rodding - **Working within the silo basements carrying out rodding activities to assist in the emptying and conveying of sugar from within the silos.
- **Topman - **Working on a range of confined spaces from category 2 - 5. Working in line with Mines Rescue accredited guidelines as the tops man for confined space working
- **Fire Watch -** Completing a fire watch of controlled area upon completion of hot works.
- **Grounds Maintenance/Gritting - **General grounds maintenance duties inclusive of weeding, cutting and gritting during winter months. Litter picking, and sign cleaning is included within this role. **Occasional use of gardening tools e.g. Electric strimmer, lawnmower (Cantley Only).**:

- **Traffic Marshalling - **Traffic management and marshalling duties of lorries within any area of site. Possible staggered working hours.
- **Reception - **Front of house role. Operation of the telephone switchboard, site driver inductions, welcoming visitors and postal service.
- **Site Inductions -** Presenting the site safety induction for all staff, contractors and visitors.
- **Security - **Based within the front of house area/reception. Carrying out security duties in line with SIA guidelines inclusive of CCTV monitoring and occurrence reports. This role will require you to have an SIA licence and First Aid trained.
- **Remelt - **This role involves the ‘ripping’ and ‘tipping’ of remelt sugar stored in various size bags (25kg up to 1 tonne) into the remelt bund. This role may also require the use of a forklift truck. Possible weekends and call outs.
- **Compliance - **Completing all compliance checks required for site. This includes legionella, fire extinguishers, fire hose reels, fire doors and eye washes.
- **Knife station support -** To provide cover alongside the knife station lead, general cleaning of knife blocks and building up of knife blocks. Possible staggered working hours and call outs.
- **Animal Feed Dispatch -** Traffic management and marshalling duties of lorries within the Animal Feed Warehouse location. Up to 40-ton tailor inspections, management of Animal Feed samples in accordance of the client’s procedures, general cleaning duties. Working within a shift pattern covering to cover the role 7 days a week.

**Person Specification**:

- Knowledge of all areas of site, including inductions for site, bio fuels, product availability, FEMAS and drivers.
- British Sugar Safety Fundamentals and Manual Handling. Forklift ticket preferable.
- Ability to work both alone and within a team.
- Role specific training to be given.
- Working towards Food Safety level 2
- Desire to achieve high standards and work towards progression within.
