- Implementing, maintaining and reviewing of the site’s health, safety and environmental management system.
- Ensuring the site is compliant with UK legislation and is aligned with the Group strategy for health, safety and environment.
- Conducting internal audits against ISO standards, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 and where necessary supporting external supplier audits.
- Supporting and carrying out accident / incident investigations, to identify root causes and to establish and communicate corrective and preventive measures.
- Taking the lead on new initiatives / Group campaigns to improve and develop the site health, safety and environmental culture.
- Providing HSE input into the tender and contract award process.
- Supporting contractor management when required.
- Supporting the site behavioural based safety programme and conduct monthly observations.
- Creating and delivering monthly HSE Committee meeting presentations.
- Developing health, safety and environmental procedures and forms, risk assessments, COSHH risk
- assessments, environmental aspect and impact registers etc.
- Supporting new starter inductions and training requirements as and when required.
- Liaising with external organisations such as clients, suppliers, insurers, regulators, neighbouring businesses and the local community.
**The Person we’re looking for**:
- The job holder must be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent.
- IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or similar is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in the following areas would be beneficial: workplace transport, forklift trucks, working at height, welding, PUWER, fire, legionella, COSHH, DSEAR.
- Experience of working in heavy and/or process manufacturing industries would be a benefit.
- Experience of all Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
