**Job title: HSE Advisor**

**Job description**:
The HSE Department are responsible for ensuring that a comprehensive management system is implemented, maintained and continually improved upon in accordance UK Legislation, Group / Site Policies and Procedures.

**Main duties**
- Supporting the ongoing development and implementation of the site’s health, safety and environmental management system.
- Ensuring the site is compliant with UK legislation and is aligned with the Group strategy for health, safety and environment.
- Conducting internal audits against ISO standards, ISO45001 & ISO14001 and where necessary supporting external supplier audits.
- Participating in accident, incident and near miss investigations.
- Taking the lead on new initiatives / Group campaigns to improve and develop the site health, safety and environmental culture.
- Providing HSE input into the tender and contract award process.
- Supporting contractor management onsite.
- Supporting the site behavioural based safety programme and conduct monthly observations.
- Creating and delivering monthly HSE Committee meeting presentations.
- Supporting new starter inductions and training requirements as and when required.
- Managing emergency arrangements onsite e.g. fire / fire drills, first aid, spillage, rescue from height, arranging training exercise etc.
- Liaising with external organisations such as clients, suppliers, insurers, regulators, neighbouring businesses and the local community.

**You are meant for this job if**:
**Qualifications / Experience**:
The job holder would ideally be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent, or currently working towards this.

IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or similar is desirable but not essential.

Experience in the following areas would be beneficial: workplace transport, forklift trucks, working at height, welding, PUWER, fire, legionella, DSE, COSHH, DSEAR.

Experience of working in heavy and/or process manufacturing industries would be a benefit.

Experience of all Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc).
