Nurses UK is a nursing agency providing temporary staffing to nursing homes and hospitals throughout England. Nurses UK is in its 7th year of trading. The company has grown from sucess to success year on year. We have an opportunity that has arisen for a Payroll Administrator to join our fantastic team in our St Leonards on Sea, Head Office.
**Monday to Friday 0900-1700 (Occasional bank holidays)**
**The Role**:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join our friendly team. The Payroll Administrator will support the finance team in all accounting and payroll related responsibilities for Nurses UK.
As a payroll administrator you will be responsible to process timesheets weekly for our temporary staff ensuring payroll standards and objectives are delivered consistently, with accurate and timely processing of the weekly payroll, that currently stands at 350 employees.
Alongside payroll duties you will be required to process invoices to a variety of clients.
**Key Responsibilities will be to**:
- Monitor and control Holiday and Sick Pay across the business.
- Close the weekly payroll and ensure all data are transmitted on time.
- Maintain the payroll system, ensuring accuracy is always maintained.
- Support the managing director and accountant with payroll administration and maintenance.
- Ensure that the Payroll function operates efficiently on a day-to-day basis.
- Perform Payroll audit checks.
- Preparation of weekly / fortnightly / four-weekly / monthly and annual payrolls, within tight deadlines
- Must have a full understanding of all aspects of payroll including:
- Tax and NI Calculations
- Statutory Maternity/Paternity/Adoption payments
- Statutory sickness payments
- Student loans and statutory recoveries
- Understanding of taxable benefits and expenses
- HMRC requirements for RTI processing
- Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
- Holiday Pay Calculations
- Basic understanding of Auto Enrolment we use NEST
- Prepare payments by BACS for salaries and PAYE
- Submission of FPS and EPS for all clients each pay period
- Deal with a variety of client and internal queries
- Liaising with HM Revenue & Customs with client queries
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required
**The Person**
- 1+ years’ preferred experience within a similar role.
- Process driven, with outstanding attention to detail
- Exemplary communication skills
- Be a team player with the desire to develop
- Previous experience of working within a busy environment is essential.
- Must be able to work to tight deadlines, using own initiative.
- The payroll software in place is Precision Payroll.
- Software knowledge of Xero Accounting.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills, as well as attention to detail. A strong numerical ability and an understanding of statutory payments and payroll legislation are an advantage.
