The Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards is part of the Chamber and Participation Team and plays a vital role in upholding parliamentary standards. This includes overseeing the operation of the MPs’ Code of Conduct, investigating alleged breaches, and managing cases related to bullying, harassment, and sexual misconduct under the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme (ICGS). We are seeking an additional member of staff to provide essential support to the Office’s processes and assist with the Commissioner’s engagement work. Joining a small and supportive team, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to the integrity of parliamentary standards. **The Role** This role provides key support to a team of operational investigations managers, handles correspondence with internal and external stakeholders, and assists with the Commissioner’s outreach and engagement programmes. Some of the responsibilities for this role include: - Providing administrative support for investigations, including proofreading reports, compiling evidence bundles, transcribing interviews, and redacting documents in line with procedures. - Assisting with the Commissioner’s outreach programme, including planning and evaluating the "Principles in Practice" sessions. - Managing general administrative tasks, such as drafting minutes, maintaining records, and preparing statistics. - Handling correspondence with the Commissioner’s Office, including responding to enquiries, managing complaints, and assessing cases against the Procedural Protocol. **Skills and Experience** To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate: - Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to relay information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. - Experience in organising workshops, conferences, or similar events. - Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Political sensitivity and independent judgement, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. **Next Steps and Additional Information** - **Application Form**: More information on the role and the full criteria can be found in the Job Description.
