Enfield, United Kingdom London Borough of Enfield Full time

SEN Review & Transfer Case Coordinator (SO2)

Salary £32,988 -34,809

One-year maternity cover, Full time (36 hours) position

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a SEN Review and Transfer Coordinator to work in our pre-14 years Annual Review & Transfer Team in the SEN Service. The post holder will be required to support the Team in order to ensure all relevant legislation and guidance is adhered to in relation to annual review casework and secondary phase transfers.

Special Educational Needs &/or Disability (SEND) is a statutory service providing support to children and young people with SEN who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We have approximately 4000 EHC plans overseen by a team of 15 SEN Case Coordinators alongside 4 Team Leaders across four teams: Assessment Team, Review and Transfer Team, Post 14 Team and Looked After and Vulnerable Children's Team.

Enfield is passionate and ambitious about improving the outcomes of Children & Young People aged 0-25 in the Borough with SEN. The service is well supported by the Director of Education, Head of Service and our partners in the Educational Psychology Service, Admissions, School Improvement and Children and Adult service leads.

To be successful in this role you will have the skills to work as part of a team, but also on your own initiative. SEN is a busy service and personal resilience and good communication skills are crucial, along with the ability to prioritise tasks and work at a fast pace. You will also need to be ICT proficient and be willing to learn to use the internal case management system.

You will offer advice and support to schools and settings in regard to the Annual Review process, ensuring all paperwork is submitted to the LA in a timely manner and in line with Statutory Guidance and deadlines. You must be able to support parents/carers and young people on the opportunities that are available within the Local Offer and have knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, The Children and Families Act and other relevant legislation.

Previous experience of working within a statutory service is not essential but desirable. A track record of exceptional customer service, the ability to think with a person-centred approach and a high standard of written English and organisation skills in order to be able to produce outstanding quality EHCPs are all necessary.
