Sen Ehcp Review
The SEN Service are looking to appoint enthusiastic people to two newly created positions within the Team.
SEN is a statutory service providing support to children and young people with SEN who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We have 3,500 EHC plans and a team of 15 SEN officers alongside 4 team-leaders across four teams: Assessment Team, Review and Transfer Team, Looked After and Vulnerable Children Team and a Post 14 Team.
To be successful in this role, you will have the skills to work as part of a team, but also on your own initiative. Good communication skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise work. You will need to be ICT proficient and will need to learn how to use the case management system. SEN is a busy service so the ability to be able to work at a fast pace, together with personal resilience are extremely important.
You will offer advice and support to parents, schools and other Professionals on the Annual Review process, ensuring all paperwork is submitted and to the LA and processed in a timely manner, in line with guidance and actioning within statutory timeframes.
You will need to have knowledge of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act and be able to support parents/carers and young people on the opportunities that are available within the Local Offer.
Previous experience of working within a statutory service is not essential but is desired. A track record of exceptional customer service, the ability to think with a person-centred approach and a high standard of written English and organisation skills to be able to produce outstanding quality EHCPs are all necessary.
