**Job Summary**

**Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR)**

Due to the nature of this role in working alongside women with lived experience of violence against women, this post is restricted to female applicants under Section 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

**Main Duties**

**Management and Administration**

1. Manage and supervise the charity’s administration staff and volunteers, monitor workloads, and deal with related issues to ensure effective, high-quality administration services and volunteer activities.

2. Ensure the CRM is up to date and well maintained and general correspondence, reports, minutes, promotional materials, etc., are produced when required and to a high standard.

3. Manage and maintain office systems, delegating work as appropriate.

4. Ensure internal procedures are efficient and effective and continuously improving.

**Premises and Equipment**

1. To ensure the security of premises and to arrange for repairs, alterations, and maintenance.

2. To negotiate competitive prices from suppliers for utilities, refuse, telephones, furniture, office equipment, etc. Undertake reviews of suppliers and prices as appropriate and ensure the smooth running of all contracts.

3. To review and ensure compliance with property and equipment leases.

4. To arrange purchase and maintenance of equipment and organise staff training as appropriate

**Health and Safety**

1. To take lead responsibility for Health and Safety and ensure that Derby Women’s Centre complies with legislation.

2. To keep informed of and implement changes according to Health and Safety legislation and ensure that the charity’s policy remains current with legislative changes.

3. To ensure risk assessments are carried out at all the charity’s premises.

4. To ensure PAT testing on all the charity’s electrical appliances.

5. To provide induction training to all staff on Health and Safety and ensure appropriate ongoing training.

6. To ensure that all staff know their responsibilities under the Health and Safety Act.

7. Ensure staff have First Aid certification

8. Act as the lead on Safeguarding, Health and Safety, First Aid and Fire Marshall.

**Human Resources**

2. To manage the online absence management system, ensuring that the system is updated appropriately to meet the charity’s requirements.

3. To be the Charity’s lead on the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, ensuring all staff and volunteers have an up-to-date check at the appropriate level for their role, in line with our policies and procedures

**General**

1. To assist with maximising Derby Women’s Centre fundraising and trading opportunities.

2. To always act in accordance with the policies and procedures of Derby Women’s Centre.

3. To undertake any other duties consistent with the job's duties and responsibilities.

**Qualifications**
- Educated to Degree Level
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Proven administrative experience with a focus on organisational skills
- Ability to utilise social media platforms to promote the work of the organisation
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication abilities
- Familiarity with data entry tasks
- Clerical experience and attention to detail
- First Aid Certification is a plus
- Previous office experience essential

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £13.25 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
