The Classic division is part of JLR Special Vehicle Operations and is actively developing and delivering a global proposition to offer cars, services, parts, accessories and experiences to customers of Classic Jaguar Land Rover products worldwide.
There is a high level of internal and external demand across a number of sales channels, all looking for genuine Classic parts and accessory product offers. To fulfil this demand Classic must develop, source and sell a range of products that are commercially profitable.

In the role of Senior Technical Buyer, you will join the Classic Purchasing team, having strategic and transactional responsibility for new part sourcing for both Jaguar and Land Rover Classic brands. You will source and manage parts for Classic programmes and the aftermarket.

**Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities**
- Be working within the Classic Purchasing Team collaborating closely with; MP&L, the programme team, STA site engineering, Product Specialists, Engineering and Operations supporting aftermarket new part introduction and Classic production part sourcing.
- Be responsible for the complete end to end sourcing process for specific parts and accessories.
- Lead supplier negotiations to achieve best supplier selection (QCDIS).
- Communicate requirements to potential suppliers ensuring there is complete technical understanding in collaboration with STA & engineering.
- Develop the Classic Supply base, identifying new supplier opportunities, consolidation and rationalisation where required.
- Working with a programme bill of material (BOM), report on the sourcing status and critical changes that may affect the achievement of programme gateway milestones.
- Report on programme gateway purchasing deliverables and support programme meetings.
- Support business case development for new part introduction in collaboration with Product Specialists.
- Support & manage cost reduction & supplier quality throughout the Classic business.

**WHAT YOU'LL NEED**

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Translating analytical results into detailed, robust actionable recommendations to the business
- Effectively using relevant IT tools for collecting, analysing, and presenting data (e.g. SAP, Excel, PPT)
- Implementing and delivering purchasing strategies across the affected areas of the business Influencing cross-functional engagement to implement strategies
- Defining and delivering on time multiple demanding project plans, illustrating clear roles & responsibilities and resource deployment to achieve key milestones across CPCDS
- Ensuring that the strategy to be implemented is aligned in order to deliver business gateway requirements
- Creating and delivering a clear and robust communication plan.
- An individual, who works independently, is results driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment.
- An individual with the capability to combine a short term, pragmatic focus with medium term planning
- An effective team player, actively develops and supports team members
- Classic parts or core JLR Supply chain knowledge.
- Experience of working in a low-volume or prototype manufacturing environment.
