**WHAT TO EXPECT**

Reporting to the Global Commodity Lead this is an exciting opportunity to part of the creation and implementation of the long-term strategy for the most critical commodity to JLR. Semiconductors are an increasingly important technology that is forecast to double in value across our vehicles as we move to connected, electrified and autonomous vehicles. JLR must compete with major electronics and other industries in this space.

**You’ll be**:

- Quickly building a knowledge of the semiconductor supply chain, market and suppliers, as well as working with engineering to understand technical requirements
- Support and deliver sourcing in line with policy and to agreed cost quality, technology targets through GSP
- Support and lead complex supplier negotiations and contracting with the support of multiple stakeholders and specialist teams
- Delivery of material cost to target pre and post SCPA and develop a detailed cost reduction strategy
- Lead the development of the supplier relationships globally for semiconductors
- Long term measures / supply chain strategies to safeguard JLR supply of semiconductors
- Lead the development of the Supplier and Internal Senior stakeholder relationships to ensure strategic and programme alignment.
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time
**WHAT YOU’LL NEED**
**Essential**:

- Degree qualified or equivalent experience
- An individual who is results driven, has tenacity, drive and perseverance, enabling them to deliver strategic plans in a complex, highly demanding environment.
- An individual with the ability to collate and analyse data and information and use it to formulate strategic recommendations
- An individual who is resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs
- An individual who is able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
**Desirable**:

- Experience of working in a global, multi-cultural environment
- Experience of sourcing complex parts for a major vehicle programme / platform
- Experience in creating and/or implementing purchasing strategies
