Purchasing Assistant

**Job Summary**:
To provide cost effective ordering for Our Contract Flooring business, ensuring correct products are ordered for each job. While also ensuring all products are ordered within agreed timescales and targets met. Develop strong working relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors.
This is a fast-paced environment, you must be quick thinking and highly motivated, with the ability to perform under pressure. The industry is changing daily, so you will need to welcome new challenges and be willing to learn new skills.
Key duties and Responsibilities:
- Ordering of stock needed for the business
- Answer any incoming calls in a professional and efficient manner
- Data entry of purchasing
- Ensuring delivery dates match with fit date on our diary system
- Diary Management to ensure any jobs are moved for delays in stock delivery
- Liaising with Construction Sites for product changes and movement within the diary
- Allocation of work to fitting teams
- Take Accountability to solve issues from beginning to end
- Comply with all company procedures and policies including health and safety.
- Proactively contribute to the ongoing development of departmental processes and policies.
- Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time
Person Specification:
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced office environment
- Excellent telephone manner
- Computer literate essential
- Must possess strong organisation and communication skills.
- Must have good attention to detail
- Previous experience of working within purchasing desirable.
- Must be proactive and able to confidentially work independently, as well as being a positive team player
- Knowledge of flooring products, desirable but not essential
- Previous experience of working within New Build Sector, desirable but not essential
