**To provide support for a 16-year-old young lady who has ADHD and Global Development Delay**.**

**Main Duties** We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker for this young lady to enable her to access activities in the community and to develop her independence skills. Ideally the suitable applicant will have similar interests so that this young lady and can engage with them and feel comfortable being in the community as she cannot do this without the support of an adult as she has no danger awareness. The main activity would be attending the gym every Thursday, either morning or afternoon for 3 hours. Following the gym, she would like to go into town for coffee, to the library or shops and have the support to develop her social skills and confidence; so that in the future she can make and maintain friendships with other young people of her age group. There are also 2 hours every other Friday and times and activities will be discussed with suitable applicants at interview, as there is some flexibility around this.

**Hours** **3** hours per week every Thursday, morning or afternoon. 2 hours every other week on Friday’s, times to be discussed and agreed at interview.
**Rate of pay** - £13.09 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata.
- Any out of pocket expenses will be met by the employer.
- ILG PA Employee Assistance Programme - this will be purchased by your employer after you have completed 6 weeks of employment.

- have a positive understanding and genuine interest in supporting young people with complex needs within their communities
- be punctual and reliable as the young person cannot be left unsupervised
- have a happy, positive and caring nature

**AN ENHANCED DBS CHECK IS REQUIRED - COST TO BE MET BY EMPLOYER.**
