**Job Description**:
To aid and support young people to access and take part in activities within the school holidays based at a school environment.

To aid and support the running of HAF and via this provision support and encourage young people to participate in activities and events of their choosing and at their own pace within this inclusive environment.
- **You will be required to work during the school summer holidays**_

Responsibilities and Duties:

- To actively comply and operate within DABD Policies and Procedures and ensure that suitable action and reporting is undertaken regarding any safe guarding issues or hazards that you know or which are brought to your attention;
- To attend each session at the required start time and venue as depicted by club events.
- To engage face-to-face with young people both in groups and on an individual basis.
- To undertake personal care or supervise medication (with support) when required
- To support and encourage members to participate in activities, within a secure, friendly environment both on and off site.
- To work as part of a team to provide:

- Opportunities for the young people achieve and expand in existing as well as new interests and skills
- Opportunities to make friends and develop appropriate relationships with both peers and adults.
- Opportunities to express opinions and to consider those of others, to take initiatives, new responsibilities and make informed decisions.
- Opportunities to contribute toward the organisation and running of the youth provision.
- To undertake training and attend meeting as required by the Personal Support Service Lead.
- To set up and clear away activity equipments and make sure the areas used are left clean and tidy.
- To be aware of the medical, behavioural, emotional and cultural characteristics of the young people you are supporting.
- To be an escort for the young people to and from sessions when required.
- To work supportively and effectively within a team of workers which will include Volunteers, student placements and other youth agency workers.
- To supervise, support and mentor Volunteers and discuss progress and difficulties with Senior Support Worker or Personal Support Service Lead.
- To comply with DABD’s Health & Safety regulations
- To comply with DABD’s Data Protections Act 1984
- To carry out all responsibilities and duties in accordance with DABD’s Equal Opportunities Policy
- The above-mentioned duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the post holder may be called upon to carryout such duties as may be required by the Personal Support Service Lead.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of offenders Act 1974 and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all applicants including enhanced Police checks

**Job Type**: Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From £13.75 per hour
