At Candlelighters we bring light and hope to every family affected by childhood cancer across Yorkshire. This is an exciting time for the Candlelighters fundraising team as we aim to grow income and continue providing our incredible services to families. To achieve this, we fundraise in many ways, one of which is through support from local businesses (corporate fundraising).

As Fundraising & Events Volunteer, you will support the Candlelighters fundraising team with delivering corporate fundraising, providing the best experience for business who support Candlelighters.

You will also have an important role to play in organising our Business Collaboration Project Event. A big part of our approach to corporate fundraising is ‘collaboration’ and this fantastic event does this by bringing together current corporate supporters and those businesses interested in supporting

Candlelighters for lots of fun, networking and collaboration.

**Hours**

Minimum one day per week. 8.30am - 4.30am (we can be flexible on hours and days)

**Location**

Office based. Candlelighters, Woodhouse Square, Leeds, LS16 7JE

**Principle Responsibilities General Fundraising**
- Researching potential new business partnerships
- Approaching businesses to explore partnering with Candlelighters Supporting team with management of our business club.

**Business Collaboration Project Event**
- Booking venues
- Negotiating with suppliers (securing free support wherever possible). Securing sponsorship towards event.
- Managing invitations to event (design and distribution). Organising event itinerary (speakers, games, networking etc). Communicating with guests in lead up to event.
- Liaising with Marketing team over development of promotional materials. Other administrative duties as require to support the fundraising team.

**Skills & experience required**
- Experience organising events.
- Sympathetic to Candlelighters cause. Strong administrative & organisational skills.
- Experience working in an office environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working well as part of a team.
- Confident working independently and using own initiative. Able to follow Candlelighters policies and procedures.
- Able to demonstrate the Candlelighters values on a daily basis.
