North Star Foundation supports adults with learning disabilities and neurodiversity needs to live in their own homes and develop independence. The main activity of the organisation is the provision of suitably skilled staff to provide safe and effective care to people using the service. The service is commissioned by Local Authority Social Services Departments and NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups, and is rated as an ‘_Outstanding’ _Care Provider by CQC.

The Business Support Officer provides business administration and systems support to aid the day to day running of this small, specialised care service and its related organisations, including a social housing provider. This dynamic and diverse role requires a broad set of administrative, financial, communication, IT, and other business skills to perform well. It is therefore an ideal role for an all-rounder seeking to develop their overall office skills and business acumen, and seeking work in a stimulating and rewarding environment.

The position is based at our offices in Droitwich town centre, and the jobholder works closely with the Care Management Team. Duties are varied and involve operating a range of business administration, care management systems, data protection, and general office procedures. In addition to daily tasks, the jobholder is expected to observe important deadlines and work accurately and diligently to produce information in good time for review by the Board of Directors and Care Management Team.

Within this role the Jobholder will be required to have a disciplined and analytical approach and embrace new technology and pro-actively use ICT_, Excel in particular_

**Person Specification**

This is a varied and stimulating role which requires adaptability to perform a broad set of finance and administrative duties. The varied nature of work requires the jobholder to have strong organisational skills; an ability to prioritise urgent / important tasks, and be confident to liaise with staff. This position therefore suits an organised and self-motivated individual with a proven background in Business Administration and/or Finance. In particular the Jobholder will require the following attributes:

- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills with a professional standard of written language
- Confident with using IT, to enable you to process tasks and documents effectively with previous experience of using _Excel being essential_. Experience of other MS Office Suites is useful.
- Proven team worker who can support their colleagues, understand business priorities, and manage their own time and workload effectively. Able to follow procedures and escalate queries
- Responsive and flexible approach to managing workload and the needs of the business. Excellent attendance and time keeping record is required.
- Organised, focused, and disciplined, with very high standards of accuracy and attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong problem solving skills. A calm and methodical approach is important to solve problems, consult with colleagues, service users, and co-carers, and to make timely decisions.
- Extremely trustworthy, with a track record of previously held positions of responsibility (either at work or socially)
- Qualifications:_ We seek applicants with qualifications in Business Administration or Finance. The jobholder must be prepared to undertake further training in ICT and relevant qualifications.
