London, United Kingdom UKGBC Limited Full time

Job Advert

**UKGBC Who we are**:
UK Green Building Council is the industry network with a mission to radically transform the built environment in the face of the climate, nature crises. We champion bold government action and convene the ambitious sections of industry to drive progress at pace and scale.

This is an opportunity to play a role at the forefront of tackling the climate and nature crises and to protect communities. Nature is in collapse and our buildings and communities will not withstand the climate impacts we face without urgent action. The places we live, work and play in must, and can, be part of the solution, not the problem.

We are multi-disciplinary team of 40 passionate, skilled people from across the UK with a London office hub. As a green charity, we prize our welcoming and inclusive work culture with wellbeing and professional development at its heart.

**The role**

The Digital Content and Social Media Officer is at the centre of helping UKGBC deliver its mission. You will be at the heart of the communications team, helping set a digital and content strategy and communicating everything from reports and technical sustainability guidance in accessible and interesting ways for different audiences. The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of UKGBC’s website, social media channels and content calendar, as well as working with a range of different teams on content creation.

**We are an equal-opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any protected characteristic. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcome and valued. Our commitment to inclusivity means we support flexible work arrangements, ensuring work-life balance for all. We prioritize accessibility and will gladly accommodate any needs upon request, as we believe in providing a barrier-free recruitment process.**

**Key responsibilities**
- Strategic management of UKGBC’s content calendar, organising launch dates for reports and key themes to tie our work into one coherent external narrative.
- Management of UKGBC’s social media platforms - LinkedIn and X/Twitter - working closely with our Marketing Officer.
- Graphic design of social media assets, and other digital resources for the team.
- Management of external contractors to guide the creation of digital resources.
- Management of UKGBC’s website, including ensuring all pages are kept up to date, have good SEO health and are low carbon. You will also manage the relationship with our external website partners as the website evolves over time.
- Consultation to programmatic teams on the best strategies for disseminating their research in formats that are suitable and accessible for the right audiences.
- Creating ‘Dissemination and Engagement’ digital campaigns for our key reports to drive continued engagement.
- Supporting the marketing team on initiatives to drive membership acquisition and events attendees where appropriate.
- Measurement and reporting of both social media and website analytics.
- Brand guardian for digital output and content, with awareness of reputational issues.
- Ability to step out of role and help with other functions, when required.

**People requirements**:
Key qualities, competencies, experience, and qualifications
- **
Mission**: A passion for tackling the climate, nature and cost of living crises, and a commitment to UKGBC’s mission.
- ** Honesty**: Integrity and the highest standards of probity and inclusivity.
