WorkFlow Services Ltd is a new and forward-thinking organisation which has been providing project, cost and commercial services to the construction, engineering and utilities sector.

We offer a range of services including pre and post contract management for all aspects of public and private sector construction and engineering projects. We work with a variety of clients from subcontractors, main contractors and employers / clients across all sectors from civil engineering, property development, new build developments with a big focus on gas and electrical utilities.

Due to success and future growth we require an individual to join our team, to provide direct support for project work on either a PAYE or self-employed basis (outside IR35).

We have offices based in Bollington, Cheshire with work throughout the UK.

We are looking for a Temporary Works Co-ordinator for approximately 2 days per week for initially 10 weeks.
- Undertake the Role of Temporary Works Co-ordinator as required by BS 5795.
- Ensure the control of temporary works are properly implemented on site.
- Provide technical and delivery assurance on all temporary works and civil engineering activities with respect both to our client and other supply chain contracts.
- Implement temporary works ensuring compliance across the delivery function.
- Ensure the temporary works schedule is regularly reviewed and updated as required.
- Advise and support project planning and delivery to ensure all work activities carried out conform to the Temporary Works Procedure.
- Assist with tender information when required - technical assessment of tender returns.
- Prepare Temporary Works Designs and Design Checks. Ensure design checks are carried out, covering concept, structural adequacy and compliance with the design brief. Ensure regular and meaningful design review meetings take place. Ensure design changes are properly recorded, assessed and authorised as appropriate. Design and construction procurement and design checking and approval certification. Ensure design risks are recorded.
- Lead by example - in conjunction with the safety and delivery functions ensure a proactive safety and compliance culture and zero tolerance for accidents and self-inflicted incidents at all levels. Assist with value engineering; designs take proactive account of health, safety, welfare and sustainability.
- Take responsibility for meeting agreed performance targets, controls and costs.
- Undertake auditing compliance with the CDM Regulations including mentoring delivery personnel where required; assisting site teams with their responsibilities with regards to Temporary Works.

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure temporary load cases are adequately considered
- Ensure that during use all appropriate maintenance and routine inspection are carried out
- Provide specific briefings on the limitations of Temporary works schemes in conjunction with the designer where appropriate
- Ensure that the design is independently checked for concept, structural adequacy and compliance with the brief
- Ensure that a satisfactory Temporary Works design is carried out
- Register or record the drawings, calculations and other relevant documents relating to the final design
- Issue formal permit to load/proceed if final check (s) prove satisfactory
- Advise the permanent works designer of any temporary conditions, or loads, that should be considered in the permanent works design
- Ensure TW documentation is adequately maintained within the site management systems
- Ensure that those responsible for on-site supervision receive full design details, with significant risks and design limitations highlighted
- Obtain the criteria that allows the temporary works to be removed
- Mentor TWS’s and site engineers along with regular briefings to the site supervisors
- Ensure that checks are made at appropriate stages covering the more critical factors
- Ensure that any proposed changes in materials or construction are checked against the original design and appropriate action taken
- Coordinate all Temporary Works activities

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with at least 3 years post qualification experience in Civil Engineering
- Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered Engineer status
- Experience within the main facets of Temporary Works including Ground Support systems, Scaffolding, Formwork, and False work
- Experience of reviewing and checking the work of others, including calculations, drawings, reports, proposals, etc.
- Experience in co-ordination of the civil/structural works, completion of construction activities, reviewing contractor method statements and ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and contract requirements during design and on site
