Bank Resident Support Worker

Sandford, United Kingdom St Monica Trust Full time

This vital job provides a varied and proactive person-centred approach which will improve our residents experience within our care homes.

This job is hands-on, practical, busy and there’s never a dull moment. The team have a strong sense of “looking out for each-other” and “pulling together to get things done”. The most rewarding part of their role though, is getting to know our residents, who value the support in the way they build relationships of “trust and respect” and are always “willing to help”.

The role combines catering and housekeeping work, preparing and serving food and drinks for residents and also cleaning our residents’ rooms and communal areas. You’ll be a practical person with the ability to think on your feet and respond quickly - sometimes needing to drop all your well-planned tasks to attend to something at short notice.

Food Hygiene, Catering and Health and Safety skills would be useful however, we give full training. You will have exceptional customer service skills including the ability to interact and build a good rapport with residents and customers. This is a fast-paced environment - so you'll need to be able to use your initiative, work well in a team and be able to think on your feet.

Most importantly though, you will build relationships with our residents, you’ll get to know their needs and make sure they enjoy a person-centred housekeeping, catering and hospitality service.

Experience of working with older people and/or people with dementia is desirable but not essential. Full training is provided.
