**The role**
Provide high quality HR service, transactional and administrative support to employees and managers across the Group. Act as the first line of support for all people practice related queries as well as delivering the core transactional processes within payrolland benefits, employee lifecycle, HR system, people reporting and learning & development. Ensure that operational activity is carried out in line with our company values, culture, confidentiality and data protection guidelines.
**Key responsibilities**
Benefits & Payroll
- Work with the HR team and Payroll team to ensure payroll changes are processed timely and accurately, for example employee changes, personal development awards, employee loans, long-service awards
- Administer the USS employee benefits, including but not limited to:
- Private medical healthcare
- Childcare voucher and cyclescheme
- Eyecare vouchers
- Annual health checks
- Life insurance
- Administer the USS recognition scheme, including running usage reports
Employee lifecycle
- Administer process for new joiners, leavers and employee changes
- Manage the probation period process, engaging with managers and HRBPs as appropriate
- Processing of parental related leave and other ad hoc leave such as jury service
- Support HRBPs with the administration of the sickness absence process, following up on any sickness absence as required from HRBPs
- Update the company’s People Movements Management system as relevant
HR inbox and system
- Manage the team’s HR inbox, the primary route for employee support (excluding the intranet), prioritising queries to provide excellent service. Escalate, where needed, frequent queries to SHRBP to enable continuous improvement of HR support and service
- Ensure that the HR system is kept up to date with employee changes. This includes inputting starters and leavers, contractual amendments, change of details
- Assist with general HR system queries
General
- Respond to employment reference requests, including regulated, for current and ex-employees
- Provide administrative support to employee learning and development processes
- Purchase Order raising for HR purchasing
- General administration tasks for the HR team
- Ensure electronic personnel files are maintained and filing is completed in a timely manner and in line with the HR data retention guidelines
- Provide basic advice on policies and procedures to employees and managers
- Provide administrative support to HR projects, initiatives and activities across Liverpool and London
- Contribute and recommend more effective HR policy, practice and process
**Your experience**
Experience of working in an administrative role, ideally within HR although this is not essential
Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection regulation
Highly organised with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise or escalate as required
Excellent attention to detail
