Commissioning & Contract Management Officer
7 days ago
This is a 12 month, full time post required for 37 hours per week.
It's an exciting time to join the social care commissioning team at Pembrokeshire County Council.
We want to improve the lives of unpaid carers in Pembrokeshire by increasing and improving the range of flexible and personal breaks that are available. Unpaid carers provide such an invaluable role in our society and it’s important that they have access to a choice of high quality break opportunities. This role will take the lead in developing our local offer, working alongside unpaid carers, colleagues from across social care, health and the voluntary and community sector, as well as care providers, to design future services which make a real difference to people's lives.
The job involves getting out and about, working alongside people to understand what is important to them and commissioning high quality support options that are creative and innovative in their approach.
You will be passionate and motivated about promoting people's wellbeing and enabling them to achieve their aspirations and live the life they choose. As a member of a growing and dynamic team, there will be opportunities to work with a range of partners and sectors, as well as to focus on your own personal development.
If you would like to discuss the role, please call Rhian Bennett, Commissioning Manager on 01437 775809.
Safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk is a high priority for Pembrokeshire County Council. We are committed to ensuring their safety and will take action to safeguard their well-being. The Council’s Corporate Safeguarding Policy provides a framework for every member of staff and Service within the Council, setting out responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk as well as the methods by which the Council will be assured that it is fulfilling its duties.
This policy applies to all Council employees and workforce, councillors, volunteers and also service providers that are commissioned by the Council. Safeguarding is everyone's business whether they work for, or on behalf of the Council.
**Please note, we have a legal obligation to consider employees for suitable alternative employment if their posts are at risk; therefore prior consideration will be given to existing employees who meet the person specification and are registered on our redeployment pool.**
