An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking, enthusiastic Counter Fraud Officer within our Audit, Risk & Information team. This is a brand new role which will provide the right person with the opportunity to work within a local government counter fraud service. The right person will need to have an investigatory mind-set, excellent attention to detail as well as an ability to communicate well and work effectively with others.

We have one position available; on a fixed term contract for two years, with the possibility of an extension to this.

The Council aims to reduce losses from fraud and irregularity and promote a zero-tolerance approach to fraud within and against the Council. The Internal Audit Team undertakes fraud prevention and detection work, fraud investigations and pursues the appropriate sanctions or recovery of funds.

Safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk is a high priority for Pembrokeshire County Council. We aim to support vulnerable children and adults at risk to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be. We are committed to ensuring their safety and will take action to safeguard their well-being. The Council’s Corporate Safeguarding Policy provides a framework for every member of staff and Service within the Council, setting out responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk as well as the methods by which the Council will be assured that it is fulfilling its duties.
