Can you lead our team of Acquisition Officers responsible for the final sign off of quality property to the required standard within agreed timescales?

Mears are looking for a Senior Acquisitions Officer to join our Acquisitions Team in Scotland. This is a great opportunity with our Housing Management business, on the Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract

Basic salary of £40,000 per annum, plus competitive bonus scheme - potential earnings up to £60,000 per annum

The Acquisitions Team is responsible for acquiring properties for the portfolio to ensure we are able to meet Service User demand. As a Senior Acquisitions Officer, you will lead the team responsible for ensuring all new properties in the portfolio are signed off to target and meet the required standard. Knowledge of social housing standards will be a necessity and HHSRS training an advantage.

Based from our Glasgow office, this role does come with a Company Car as it involves travelling around Scotland. You must be a driver to be considered for this role.

You will be responsible for:

- Effective liaison and relationship building with landlords, agents, investors and other sources of property to maximise the property pipeline
- Effective liaison and relationship building with contractors to ensure timely delivery of properties to standard within agreed timescales
- Accurate reporting of existing and new acquisitions
- Ensure compliance for all new acquisitions
- Meet performance outcomes and targets on volume of properties delivered within agreed timescales
- Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks to ensure accurate property pipeline information is provided to the Head of Acquisitions
- Ensure all records and IT data on systems remains updated with accurate information to meet contractual requirements.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects and provide support and cover for colleagues and teams within Mears Housing Management
- Ensure full compliance with Mears code of conduct, contractual terms and group policies & procedures
- Line management of the team of Acquisition Officers based in Scotland

What are we looking for?
- A minimum of 5 years experience of procuring social housing
- Proven track record of managing a team and meeting targets
- Excellent written and verbal communicating skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload to deadlines
- A ‘can do’ attitude
- Motivated, able to use own initiative
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the social housing sector
- Knowledge and understanding of appropriate landlord, tenant and housing law
- Builds positive relationships with external partners and agencies, leadership team and colleagues
- Gains clear agreement and commitment from others by persuading, convincing and negotiating
- Anticipates conflict and handles it constructively
- Expresses opinions, information and key points of argument clearly
- Maintains a positive outlook at work
