**Head of Data Engineering - Up to £95K - Hybrid (London or Bristol)**

I am working with a huge client for a Head Of Data Engineering role to join the team on a permanent basis

As the Head of Data Engineering for the team, you will be accountable for a small, but growing, team of data engineers, part of a wider global development team comprising developers, data scientists, data engineers and UX/UI specialists.

**Responsibilities**:
Head of Data Engineers will:

- Work collaboratively with data scientists and the wider software development team to ensure data architecture and data pipelines allow scaled deployment of the final product.
- Set up best practice data engineer capabilities and processes including automated testing, version control, and CI/CD in a cloud-based environment.
- Lead the assembly of large complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements, actively seeking opportunities to acquire data from other systems.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources, recommending best practice and ways in implement improvements in data quality reliability and efficiency throughout.
- Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing the products that help business achieving their goals.
- Help the data engineer team to achieve their potential through active technical leadership and coaching.
- Collaborate across our business to ensure the right resources and skills are provided to enable successful solution delivery.
- Engage with clients, product owners and other stakeholders to ensure their requirements are considered and prioritized correctly.

***Technical Knowledge & Experience -**
- A track record managing the delivery of technology solutions, including hardware & software integration, to time, cost, and quality, with a keen eye for risk and opportunity management.
- Rounded, full life cycle experience from requirements and design through to testing, deployment, and through-life support, with experience of managing suppliers when needed.
- A problem-solving mindset and the ability to make conceptual links between real word problems and data analytics solutions.?
- Deep knowledge of SQL, Cloud based data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
- Experience working with distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark in cloud-based environments.
