Our client is a renowned mathematical and data science institute, who are pioneers in advanced optimisation of data intelligence. Consulting for industry, public and third sector organisations, they undertake the most developed strategic and tactical mathematicalresearch that delivers significant commercial impact.

At the heart of the institute is a business development team which plays a crucial role in developing long-standing relationships with organisations crossing a wide range of industry and research. A new Business Development Manager role has been createdas this team expands.

The Business Development Manager will identify and evaluate opportunities for new client relationships; assessing, developing and pitching synergistic solutions and negotiating contracts to a successful conclusion.

The position is a blend of sophisticated account management and business development, and you will be genuinely supported and encouraged to develop new skills at pace from the outset. Success in the role means you will personally bring about commercial successwhich deliver often ground-breaking and far-reaching outcomes in the thrilling world of mathematical data science.

**The role**

Specific tasks will include:

- Identify new clients and establish genuine partnership prospects
- Seek out opportunities to widen the reach of existing relationships
- Rigorous qualification of opportunities to ensure resultant projects are relevant and mutually beneficial
- Leading the development of proposals and solutions, working closely with academic colleagues
- Nurture the relationship from outset, through contract negotiations to conclusion

**What you will bring**
- Significant experience as an account manager within a technology and/or academic solutions environment
- Track record of developing new business as well as nurturing existing customer relationships
- Ability to establish a big picture understanding and to synthesise information into compelling propositions
- Ability to manage and progress multiple projects efficiently and effectively with a strong attention to detail
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills

In return you will receive a salary in the region of £47,000 - £50,000 per annum plus a bonus and good benefits. The organisation is based in Oxford however the role can be home-based.
