ABOUT THE ROLE

Boden is a direct-to-consumer fashion brand operating across the US, UK and Europe with a significant majority of its sales coming from e-commerce. As such Technology is a vital part of our business that keeps the business running day to day as well as driving growth by helping the business become more advanced.

As Head of Solution Architecture, you will report to our Director of Engineering and your role will be to build out the processes, templates and structures within our solution architecture function to enable a consistent approach for solution architecture across our domains. As well as this you will be responsible for growing the individuals in our architecture team, helping them to understand how to act as a technical authority while still empowering our teams to contribute to solutions.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead and manage a team of Solution Architects across our domains- Build an understanding of our technology landscape and leverage your team to ensure it is accurately and consistently documented.- Define and own the processes for Solution Architecture ensuring our approach to defining solutions is consistent and communicated effectively across technology stakeholders.- Own the Technical Design Forum ensuring technical decisions are made in a way that is aligned across the technical disciplines as well as across different domains.- Stylish, grounded, uplifting - these values live through everything we do at Boden. Without the collaboration, honesty and friendship between our teams, we wouldn’t be where we are today.- Work with our Head of Engineering, Head of Data Engineering, Snr Head of Product and Head of Applications to define a technology strategy that maps our business strategy and capabilities into our technologies and environments.- Define the Principles and Policies that guide our solution decisions. Consult with the Head of Engineering on the standards they define and ensure there is alignment between principles and standards.- Own and develop the end-to-end Solution Architecture, based around event-driven microservices and AWS PAAS.- Ensure appropriate governance of designs and technology decisions according to agreed architectural principles, standards and templates.- Ensure that the architecture is aligned with the company's security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

A Bit About You- Someone who enjoys leading high-performing teams, using a balance of technical and people skills.- You’ll need a real talent for problem solving a love of all things tech and the ability to combine logical and analytical thinking with strong interpersonal skills.- You are hands-on, collaborative, passionate about customer experiences and the technology industry.- A keen awareness of architectural design patterns especially within eventing and microservices- Experience building a team- Ability to work across disciplines in technology to build a consensus
