**This is a hybrid role; you will be expected to travel to client sites, but the rest of the work can be done either remotely or in your local office.**

**My client is a Defence and Engineering consultancy who are looking for someone to shape the capability of the Safety Critical Software team and support business development and bid activities in the nuclear industry.**

**Key responsibilities**:

- Take on a leading role in the growth of our safety-critical software business.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and challenges and to develop successful, sustainable working relationships.
- Identify where the company’s current technical capability can be exploited to deliver increased business
- Contribute to identification of opportunities.
- Develop bidding strategies.
- Lead and support the development of winning bids for established and new clients.
- Liaise between technical leads and Client Account Managers to identify business growth opportunities.
- Help shape the future capabilities we will require to meet client future needs and maintain business success and growth.

**Skills & experience**:

- A proven track record of successful client relationship management experience.
- Able to understand client’s challenges, identify where the company has relevant capability to solve those challenges and support the client to develop statements of requirements where necessary.
- Able to prepare winning bids.
- Able to liaise between clients, and company technical delivery and business leads, balancing business priorities.
- Good understanding of the safety-critical software and systems development lifecycle, probably gained through a background in technical delivery.
- Comfortable talking to clients in technical terms.
