**Role**

The Head of White Rose University Consortium is a new position which will be focused on delivering a new strategic direction, centred on a shared labour market and support for career development. The role is about collaborative project development and initiation, with close cooperation with colleagues at the White Rose Consortium Universities who deliver the activity. The Head of White Rose University Consortium works with and across the three institutions equally and provides leadership to initiatives to further research, training and knowledge exchange activity across the White Rose universities. This is achieved through working closely with key stakeholders in the three partner institutions to provide effective operational management and strategic direction for the White Rose University Consortium.

The White Rose University Consortium is a strategic partnership between the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York. The Universities have built on their individual strengths by collaborating through the White Rose University Consortium. White Rose has focused on research and innovation, which has delivered sustained successes and significant external income generation. This is now well established and embedded, and so the future direction for White Rose is about pursuing a new strategic focus to build on this success.

**Skills, Experience & Qualification needed**:

- Proven ability supporting career development initiatives
- Experience working in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
- The ability to work effectively with senior management colleagues, including providing verbal and written briefings, and delivering the secretariat function for high-level groups
- The ability to develop strategy and oversee its implementation
- Proven ability with project development from an initial idea to a fully developed initiative
- The ability to build strong and purposeful internal and external relationships to deliver the mission of the organisation. This includes managing internal and external communications
- The ability to identify new opportunities, including horizon scanning longer-term opportunities
