Business and Performance Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and focussed person with a logical mindset and great attention to detail to join our established Performance Team as a Business and Performance Officer on a 9 month fixed term contract or secondment.
The Performance Team at SHSC is a friendly and welcoming team that supports clinical and corporate services across the trust to understand their information and performance, helps them make enhancements and supports larger scale clinical changes such as service reconfigurations and pathway improvements.
The Business and Performance Officer is the linchpin of the team, supporting the Performance and Analytics Manager and Business and Performance Managers to deliver excellent performance management and business support services.

**As the Business and Performance Officer, you will**:
Support the production of monthly performance and quality reports that are presented at directorate and trust board level.
Show your curious nature when using data and information to understand teams’ performance and work with clinical colleagues to understand the root causes of when this improves and worsens.
Keep track of performance recovery plans and ensure that decision makers have the right information at their fingertips.
Help to facilitate meetings and workshops, making sure everything runs smoothly.

**Job purpose**:
To support the Performance and Analytics Manager and Business and Performance Managers in providing excellent performance management and business support to clinical and corporate directorates and teams.
**General requirements**:
**The post holder will**:
work closely with Business and Performance Managers and the Performance and Analytics Manager to provide robust performance, business intelligence and business management support to the Trust.
focus on working with the Business and Performance Managers and Performance and Analytics Manager to ensure development and delivery of meaningful performance management and business support. This will include working with key stakeholders (including Governance Officers, Ward and Team Managers, Information Analysts, and administration teams) supporting clinical service areas to receive and understand their data to allow them to use this data to inform practice/service operations.
provide project support to the Performance and Analytics Manager and Business and Performance Managers as required.
support the Performance and Analytics Manager and Business and Performance Managers, taking responsibility for the production of regular reports required across the Trust.
**Principal duties**:
Work with clinical directorates and corporate staff to ensure that information is reported in a timely and effective way.
Planning and preparation for future reporting requirements including the identification of any system or process changes necessary to meet those requirements.
Work with clinical directorates in relation to the collection of information to required standards and timescales, including the introduction of new processes to meet changing requirements.
Work with clinical directorates on supporting projects such as accreditation, service development initiatives etc. as agreed by Business and Performance Managers.
Oversee the production and distribution of regular internal and ad hoc reports to agreed deadlines, including the extraction and analysis of data for those reports. Monitor compliance against targets and identify potential risks and any actions that may need to be escalated.
Take delegated responsibility for management and reporting of a range of performance management areas as agreed by the Performance and Analytics Manager and Business and Performance Managers.
Support Business and Performance Managers in the development and monitoring of action plans relating to performance, service developments and projects in line with internal, local and national requirements.
