Procurement Manager

The role

We are currently looking for a Procurement Manager. You will be part of a successful procurement team and will be looking after the indirect category. You will develop relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers to foster partnershipsand long term savings.

You will be tasked with a sizeable level of savings to find within our ferry side of the business and you will manage the procurement of a range of categories that will include services required at our shoreside locations. You will bring your expertise toexpand and embed the influence of procurement, ensuring robust and effective procurement processes to deliver the best Business outcome.

You will also be creating category management plans in a defined category area and reviewing and creating an aligned supplier base that will deliver quality and commercial competitiveness.

This role will suit someone who enjoys going out and meeting with suppliers and understanding their businesses to help deliver mutually beneficial outcomes for both the suppliers and the organisation. We are going through a huge transformation programmewith procurement at the heart of it and so you will help develop the strategy to deliver the savings and embed a procurement way of thinking across the whole of the business.

There will be some travel in this role, but will be a hybrid role with some time in the office in Dover.

The person

- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- The ability to influence a range of stakeholders from across a diverse range of suppliers
- Strong analytical and financial skills
- An understanding and experience of strategic category sourcing tools and techniques
- Experience of e-auctions and online tenders
- Practical experience of delivering lowest total cost of ownership solutions
- Bringing people and resources together
- It would be beneficial if you had experience of the transport industry
